The Btrieve Developer’s Journal magazine division was founded in 1993 as a source for news and technical information for the Btrieve community. BDJ has been instrumental in positioning Smithware as the leader in Btrieve add-on products, and has emerged as an important means for both Smithware and Pervasive Software, Inc. to continue strong, active communication with the Btrieve market.

Kathy Jones, managing editor of Btrieve Developer's Journal

Since joining Smithware in 1996, Kathy Jones has guided BDJ through a major redesign and has repositioned the magazine, making BDJ the source for in-depth information on Pervasive Software products. By taking a firm grasp of the magazine's day-to-day business functions, Kathy has increased its distribtion to almost 5,000 copies per issue. Her responsibilities as managing editor include editing, advertising, sales, circulation, and promotion of the Journal. Kathy received a B.A. in Communications and Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984 and has worked in newspaper and magazine publishing since graduation.
